Books That Genuinely Gave Me the Creeps

I don't get scared from reading often, so this is a necessary category for me

We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson (along with a GREAT number of her short stories, Shirley Jackson, how I love thee)

The Doll: The Lost Short Stories by Daphne du Maurier (I don't even think this is considered horror, but I had chills reading)

What Moves The Dead by T. Kingfisher (note: it does have mold and mushrooms and tbf anything with mold will freak me out)

The Rosemary Spell by Virginia Zimmerman (and this is a kids novel!!!)

The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich

Honorable mention: In the Shadows of Black Birds by Cat Winters. I didn't get the creeps reading, but it's SUCH a good horror novel and I honestly think Cat Winters is p underrated because I never hear of her? But the horror vibes of her writing is immaculate.
